Ayahuasca flowers (b. caapi -- Free Art Licensed by Rafael Guimarães dos Santos).

Ayahuasca (usually pronounced /jəˈwæskə/ or /ˈjəˈwɑːskə/), also commonly called yagé (/jɑːh/), is a psychedelic brew of various plant infusions prepared with the Banisteriopsis caapi vine. It is either mixed with the leaves of dimethyltryptamine(DMT)-containing species of shrubs from the genus Psychotria or with the leaves of the Justicia pectoralis plant which does not contain DMT. The brew, first described academically in the early 1950s by Harvard ethnobotanist Richard Evans Schultes, who found it employed for divinatory and healing purposes by the native peoples of Amazonian Peru, is known by a number of different names (see below).

In the World of Lemurias, Ayahuasca is an important part of the tools of the trade of the Psychonautic alchemist.  From the fabled land of the Hesperides, the plant was brought over and cultivated in personal psychonaut gardens since.  Mixed with the leaves of certain plants like Chacrona (which is also cultivated in Psychonautic gardens), and cooked, the resulting brew is an extract which contains the contact other plane  spell. The secret recipe is often divulged when a young psychonaut learns the secrets of Remote Consciousness (at 10th level).
